Angela and Billy Ortega didn’t plan to start a residential HVAC company. They were already running a busy construction and plumbing business, handling big commercial projects across the area. But something kept bothering them. Every day, they’d get calls from local families needing help with heating, cooling, or plumbing, and every time, they had to say no. Their company just wasn’t set up for smaller, immediate jobs.
It didn’t sit right. Families deserved better.
So they decided to do something about it. That’s how Ortega Plumbing Heating and Air (OPH) came to life. It started small, right in Los Lunas, but word spread fast. People appreciated good service, fair pricing, and honest work, and OPH quickly became the go-to name, not just in Los Lunas but all across the Albuquerque Metro area. Today, Angela leads the team as President, and Billy backs her up as Vice President, making sure every project still gets that same hands-on care they started with.

A Journey of Growth and Commitment
Starting OPH wasn’t always easy. Finding great technicians, keeping up with the latest technology, and dealing with crazy seasonal demand—it definitely kept us on our toes. But every challenge pushed us to be better.
Some big milestones along the way? Landing our first major residential contract. Expanding outside Los Lunas and covering the whole Albuquerque area. Investing in new equipment to make our service faster and even more reliable. And, of course, seeing the loyalty of our customers through high ratings, referrals, and a whole lot of word-of-mouth growth, we’re incredibly proud of.
